How to Set Sharp Copier to Print in Black & White by Default

Setting your Sharp copier to print in black and white by default can help save toner and lower printing costs—especially if color isn’t needed for most jobs.

Step-by-Step: Set B/W as the Default Print Option (Windows)

1: Open Printer Settings

  1. Go to your Control Panel

  2. Click Devices and Printers

  3. Right-click your Sharp copier, then click Printing Preferences

2: Change Color Settings

  1. In the Printing Preferences window, look for a tab called Color, Main, or Advanced

  2. Find the Color Mode or Color Settings option

  3. Select Black and White or Monochrome

3: Apply and Save

  1. Click Apply

  2. Then click OK to save your new default settings

Now, every print job will default to black and white—unless you manually change it for specific documents.

Pro Tip

If you manage multiple users in an office, consider applying this setting across all workstations or setting it up from the print server.
